Dwayne Derry joined Nexus Energy Partners in September 2023 as a senior accountant. He brings over 15 years of oil and gas experience to the Nexus team in various job functions, from artificial lift to accounting. At Nexus, Dwayne is responsible for recording and analyzing monthly revenue and JIB transactions, working with the data team to help create analysis dashboards and tools, and assisting the controller with wire transfers, yearly taxes, quarterly financial statements, and audit preparation.

Prior to joining the company, Dwayne served as a Tax Accountant with Maddox Thomson and Associates where he performed tax services for businesses and individuals. Previously, he served as a Production Reporting Accountant for Marathon Oil Co. Before working as an accountant, Dwayne was an Artificial Lift Specialist for Marathon Oil working in the Eagleford, and Permian basins. At the beginning of his career, Dwayne worked for Occidental Petroleum in Elk Hills California where he learned various forms of artificial lift and production optimization.

Dwayne graduated from Ashford University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Dwayne is on track to graduate from the University of Arizona Global Campus in April 2024 with a master’s degree in accounting. Once Dwayne graduates, he plans to pursue his CPA license with the state of Colorado.
